Digital Linguistics
Digital Linguistics is a scientific subfield in the intersection of Linguistics, Digital Humanities, and Data Science. It is concerned with (i) digital data used in linguistic research, (ii) digital and computational methods to address linguistic research questions, and (iii) the study of digitization and how it interacts with language, a topic that is also central to Digital Humanism.
At the Department of German Studies, Andreas Baumann is assistant professor of German language science with a focus on Digital Linguistics. He teaches courses on the topic in the BA and MA German Philology, and contributes to the MA Digital Humanities. We also collaborate with the Research Network Data Science @ Uni Vienna.
